Learn to Save a Life While Supporting Local Rescue – Pet CPR and First Aid Coming Soon

Knowing what to do in an emergency can mean the difference between panic and action — and for pet parents, that knowledge can quite literally save a life. This upcoming Pet CPR and First Aid Certification and Fundraiser brings hands-on education together with direct support for Hearts Alive Village, offering Las Vegas animal lovers a chance to learn critical skills while giving back to a rescue doing vital work in the community.

Held inside the Hearts Alive Village Cat Café, the event blends practical training with purpose, creating an experience that benefits both people and pets long after the class ends.

What This Training Covers

This certification course is designed for pet parents, pet professionals, and anyone who wants to feel more prepared when an animal emergency happens. Participants will learn how to safely respond to common — and often frightening — situations involving dogs and cats.

The curriculum includes emergency triage and assessment, safe handling and transport of injured animals, how to take and interpret vital signs, and how to properly use a pet first aid kit. The course also covers first aid responses for wounds, burns, poisoning, choking, and other urgent scenarios, along with PetCPR+, the current industry standard for canine and feline CPR.

To make the experience more interactive, attendees are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to practice hands-on techniques during the class.

Certification, Materials, and Continuing Education

Registration includes an official two-year Pet CPR and First Aid certification, along with access to an online Animal Emergency Resource Center. Participants receive a full-color 88-page digital class manual, with the option to add a printed copy for an additional fee.

For professionals, the course also offers continuing education credits across multiple organizations, including veterinary professionals, certified dog trainers, behavior consultants, boarding professionals, and pet sitters. Businesses and groups may also request a professional certificate and window decal upon completion.

Supporting Hearts Alive Village

This class also serves as a fundraiser for Hearts Alive Village, a Las Vegas–based nonprofit known for its rescue, rehabilitation, and community-focused programs for animals in need. Funds raised through the event help support their ongoing work, from lifesaving care to adoption efforts and educational outreach.

Hosting the training at the Hearts Alive Village Cat Café keeps the impact local, turning education into a direct investment in Southern Nevada’s rescue ecosystem.

Why This Matters

Emergencies don’t wait for a vet appointment. Whether it’s a choking incident, heat-related distress, poisoning, or sudden injury, being able to act quickly and correctly can save precious minutes — and sometimes lives. Events like this empower the community with knowledge while strengthening the organizations that care for animals every day.

For dog lovers, cat advocates, and pet professionals alike, this is an opportunity to leave better prepared, more confident, and directly connected to a cause that matters.
